Carnival arrives at La Graciosa . Write down these dates in case you are coming to the island or you are at Lanzarote that weekend and you want to get to know how we celebrate them. From 17th to 19 th March the streets of the island will be filled with that color which so characterizes the Canarian carnivals.
The poster announcing this year : “ the animating world “ it is an allegory which has been wanted to dedicate to the great work of the artists of the Teguise Village who act in Teguise musical , and are directed by Sergio Niz. The musical amazes every year to the children and their families with the voices, clothes and choreography who tell the best stories from the world of Disney and other great titles in the history of animation.
The events in La Graciosa will begin on March 17 th with the parade announcing the Carnival, which will tour the streets of Caleta de Sebo, until reaching the esplanade of the port to choose the Children and Youth Queen of the Carnival and Miss Alegranza. Of course, at night there will be festivals on the esplanade of the port and the traditional burial of the sardine on the last day and subsequent popular barbecue among other events.
And this week, from February 28 th to March 5 th , you should not miss the carnivals of Costa Teguise and Teguise. The meeting of Murgas on Tuesday 28 th will kick off these holidays, which will be followed in later days by the Carnival Gala, and the traditional Carnival of the Villa de Teguise or the Carnival pit among many more acts that can be consulted in the complete program that we attach at the end of the post.
Finally, the normality of the celebration of these festivities that these years ago had been disrupted by the issue of the pandemic is recovered, and we can celebrate this festivity as they deserve .
