3. La Graciosa has 700 inhabitants
The island of La Graciosa is unique, and so are its inhabitants who care for it and make it even more special. There are around 700 inhabitants living on La Graciosa, who are mainly dedicated to the tourism that the island receives.
4. Caleta de Sebo and Pedro Barba are the only two population centres on the island
La Graciosa has only two villages: Caleta de Sebo and Pedro Barba. The majority of gracioseros and gracioseras live in the former, where the main shops, restaurants and services are located.
5. The only way to reach the island is by boat.
The only way to get to La Graciosa is by sea, but you can reach it very easily thanks to the line that connects Órzola with Caleta de Sebo by ferry. So, if you want to get to know the island, you will first have to travel to Lanzarote and from there to La Graciosa.
The ferry ride takes about 25 minutes, a beautiful crossing through the waters of the north of Lanzarote with incredible scenery to admire as you sail.
6. La Graciosa does not have asphalt roads
Asphalt roads have not yet arrived on the island of La Graciosa, but it’s not for lack of resources! The island is very environmentally friendly, so the main way to get around the island is on foot or by bike.
