Pedro Barba, La Graciosa’s first settlement
The small village of Pedro Barba was the first settlement on the island, when a fish salting factory was founded in 1880. This background explains the seafaring landscape found there: small white houses with blue windows looking out to sea.
When you arrive you can breathe the calm and the salt air.
It is said that in the coastal areas the windows were painted blue or green because this was the paint left over after painting the fishermen’s boats. This postcard image has become a hallmark of both the island of La Graciosa and the small village of Pedro Barba.
Where is Pedro Barba?
Pedro Barba is located on the north-eastern tip of the island and is easy to spot because of the small traditional houses on the seashore. These cottages, mostly restored and preserved from the erosion caused by the proximity to the sea, are the heart of Pedro Barba

How to get to Pedro Barba
1. Go to the port of Órzola (Lanzarote), which connects to La Graciosa directly by boat.
